The group Georg Fischer acquires AGIE in Losone and merges Charmilles Technologies SA with AGIE under the name of GF AgieCharmilles.
After the acquisition by the group Georg Fischer in 1983, Charmilles is renamed Charmilles Technologies SA and moves to its current site in Meyrin, Geneva.
The Atelier des Charmilles releases the first industrial EDM machine (Eledora D1) on the market. The machine was presented in world premiere at the EMO exhibition in 1955.
In 1921, the Atelier des Charmilles is founded in rue de Lyon in Geneva to produce hydraulic turbines. The surrounding area in Geneva is still named today "Les Charmilles".
